  Workshop on architecture photography

Tuition & workshops

I have been using view cameras more or less continuously since 2005. For my architecture photography, it is the go-to camera thanks to the fantastic subtlety of expression it offers. Naturally, in today's world, a high-spec digital SLR is also an essential tool.

I give talks at colleges and clubs on all technical aspects of architecture photography. I also offer half-day and whole-day tuition for individuals who wish to hone their skills. The main aims are to:

  1. refine your vision to help you find strong compositions;
  2. discuss the various technical solutions at your disposal.

I can demonstrate the benefits and operation of view cameras, tilt and shift lenses for digital SLR's and also a selection of vintage lenses. Let me know what you need and I'll see how I can help you.

I am based on Teesside (within easy reach of Yorkshire and Tyneside) which has a good variety of architectural styles on which to practise and where I can arrange access to exterior and interior shots. However, if you prefer, I can travel to your location too.

Costs for workshops

In order to maintain a high level of tuition, I limit group numbers to 4. The cost for one person is 175 for 4 hours and 350 for 8 hours. Each additional person is 75 per 4 hours. A non-refundable deposit of 50 per person is required.
